Choc Peppermint Bliss Balls

Essential Oils are great to use in your cooking and raw treats... think of all your citrus oils, herbs like basil, thyme and oregano, spices such as cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg and of course the cool, refreshing flavour of peppermint!
Young Living have a range of culinary oils for those of us who like to cook, they are so concentrated and a little goes a very long way but what I love most about using oils is they are always ready to go! Often a recipes will call for some fresh herbs that you don't have on hand and its a mad dash to the shops.
Recently I was making ginger bread biscuits for Mr 5 and the recipe called for orange zest and quite a few spices like ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg... I was out of oranges that day so I grabbed by orange essential oil and added a few drops and the inconvenient trip to the shop late in the day was avoided!
Here is a very simple recipe to try using peppermint essential oil, I chose peppermint as this oil is in the Premium Starter Kit, but you can make a Jaffa version simply by adding 4-6 drops of orange essential oil.
Choc Peppermint Bliss Balls
1/3 raw cocoa powder
12 Medjool dates (pips removes) 1 tbs sunflower seeds or pepitas 1 tbs chia seeds 1 tbs organic coconut oil 1/2 cup organic shredded coconut 1/4 cup chopped almond 2 drops Peppermint Oil
Add nuts and seeds to your food processor and process until smooth.
Add the remaining ingredients and process again until well combined and smooth.
Roll mixture into balls and then coat in coconut or sesame seeds. Let them set in the fridge for 20mins. Enjoy!
